Let's take a moment today to honor some of the bravest dogs out there. Yep, I'm talking about Dogs With Jobs. It's a great category, and let's get into it. First, there are the classic Dogs With Jobs. These are your Burmese Mountain Dogs, trained for centuries to save hikers from avalanches and the like. Your Sheepdogs, adept at herding sheep by gently nipping them in the heels. Your Dalmatians, honed through generations to, um… help with fires or something? Can someone check why the Dalmatian is always associated with firefighters? 

Then there are the dogs that weren't born into a job, but rather had responsibility thrust upon them. These are the dogs that take down burglars when they break and enter, save the baby from falling off the couch, and open the fridge on command when you say the word "beer." These dogs jump into action when they're needed most.

  • Then there are simply the dogs that don't have any job other than hanging out at your house, eating food, and taking naps. But sometimes we dress them up in a cowboy outfit because let's face it, it's adorable. This is the cosplay category of Dogs With Jobs. All are equally valid and I love them all.
